Fulton Millage Rate Increase Voted Down

In a unanimous vote, commissioners stated a desire to see the government "streamline" operations.

A in Fulton was unanimously voted down 7-0 by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners at their July 11 meeting.

The .51 mill increase would have upped the current rate from 10.281 mills to 10.791 mills and served to pad the revenue lost due to decreased property values, which totals a 14 percent decline in revenue for Fulton, the Northside Neighbor reported.

At the meeting, several commissioners reportedly said the government should be forced to streamline its operations and not rely on tax payers.
