North Buckhead Civic Association Begins Work on Master Plan

The master plan is designed to address resident's concerns such as traffic congestion and crime safety.

The North Buckhead Civic Association is hosting a meeting later this month to formally kick off the organization's master plan for the North Buckhead area.

The kick-off meeting will be held on July 15 at St. James United Methodist Church.

According to the Civic Association's website, online polling conducted in October 2013 revealed the main areas of concern for North Buckhead residents. These concerns, including traffic congestion, pedestrian access to parks, and speeding motorists, were passed along to City of Atlanta representatives in May of this year.

Following the meeting, the Civic Association entered a contract with a planning firm to help develop a vision for the area's development. Now, it's up to residents of the area to chip in and contribute their ideas, suggestions, and concerns to help the project become all-inclusive.

"To be worth the time and expense, the plan will take real work and real involvement by our residents and our area’s business community," wrote Civic Association President Gordon Certain on May 10

"We’re counting on you to help.  If you have ever asked 'Why doesn’t someone do something to fix our terrible traffic/etc.?', I hope you feel some obligation to work with us this time to make sure something happens."
