Atlanta Public Schools Makes Decision on Tuesday Classes

The temperature will be considerably warmer on Wednesday.

Atlanta Public Schools announced via social media this morning that schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7, because of the weather.

"Based on predicted frigid temperatures, and for the safety of our students and employees, #APS will be closed Tuesday, January 7," the school system Tweeted a few minutes ago.

Students weren't due back until Tuesday. However, the wind chill was forecast to be 10 below zero at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, creating a real danger of frostbite and hypothermia for anyone staying outside for too long.
