Students, teachers and other staff in Atlanta Public Schools will report to school today on a regular schedule as classes resume after extreme weather kept students home on Tuesday.
The school system reminded parents to dress their children warmly in its message that schools would be opened on Wednesday.
At 7 a.m. today, the temperature will be 29 degrees, with a wind chill making it feel like 22 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Although it will feel almost 30 degrees warmer today than it felt at the same time on Tuesday morning, it will still be below freezing as children wait for the bus.
Today's high will be around 45 degrees as Buckhead begins to thaw out.
