North Atlanta High Places High in Atlanta Track Classic Relays

The Atlanta Track Classic is a citywide track meet bringing together the best track athletes throughout Atlanta Public Schools.


The finals of the 2013 Atlanta Track Classic were held on April 1, and North Atlanta High impressed everyone by placing well in the Men's 4x400m relay. 

According to reporting by TalkUp APS, "the Atlanta Track Classic is a citywide track meet bringing together the best track athletes throughout Atlanta Public Schools." 

The Men's Team Trophy went to Mays High School, who was followed by Carver High and Grady High.  The Women's Team Trophy was reserved for Grady High School, who were followed by Jackson High and Douglass High.

TalkUp APS reports that North Atlanta "had the crowd on their feet during the last race of the night as North Atlanta battled with two relay teams from Carver and Washington for second place.

  • Jasmine Cason of North Atlanta High placed 3rd in Women's 400m dash
  • Taylor Samples of North Atlanta won the Women's 800m run
  • Madeline Pearce of North Atlanta won the 1600m run
  • McKenna Johnson of North Atlanta placed 3rd in the 3200m run
  • Chloe Tillis of North Atlanta placed 3rd in Women's 100m hurdles AND 3rd in Long Jump
  • Rafael Salis of North Atlanta placed 2nd in Men's 400m dash AND in 800m
  • Edward Gaines of North Atlanta placed 3rd in Men's 400m dash
  • Carlos Santizo of North Atlanta placed 3rd in Men's 1600m run and 2nd in the 3200m run
