The traffic on Northside Drive, mixed with the rain and new facility made for a hectic first day at Buckhead's Sutton Middle School.
The students will now attend school in the former North Atlanta High building on Northside Drive.
Even after the first bell rang, the long line of cars snaked into the parking lot as parents anxiously dropped off their children in the rain. Some students got out on Northside Drive and ran across the street without crossing guards into the building.
Other parents said they had to come to the school because buses never showed.
All in all, parents were positive about the experience and just as excited as their children about the first day of school.
