Garden Hills 3rd Grade Student Wins at APS Technology Fair

Sydney Faux is a standout third grade student at Garden Hills Elementary.

Making the APS spotlight this week is Sydney Faux, a third grader at Garden Hills Elementary who stands out for her two most recent achievements.

According to the TalkUp APS blog, Sydney recently took bragging rights at her school by beating out all of her older middle school competitors in a school-wide spelling bee.  She also did hugely well at the district-level spelling bee where she placed third overall.

"The pint-sized prodigy also impressed Atlanta Public Schools Technology Fair judges last month with a pretty spectacular project about how she won the Garden Hills spelling bee two years in a row," says APS.

According to the article in the school blog, "Sydney’s project was such a hit, she won first place in the Multimedia Applications category, and she has already begun thinking about next year’s fair."

Young Sydney is truly a leader of the future, and school staff describe this gifted and talented student "as a natural leader and a risk-taker."

Just in January, Sydney took the opportunity to see another great leader, by going to Washington D.C. to see President Obama's inauguration.

Congratulations to Sydney and her class at Garden Hills!
