Gwinnett Principal Tapped for North Atlanta High School Job

The Atlanta Public Schools board of educated voted Monday to hire a Gwinnett County principal to take over at North Atlanta High School.

The Atlanta Public Schools board of educated voted Monday to hire a Gwinnett County principal to take over at North Atlanta High School.

Howard E. (Gene) Taylor is currently the principal at Lilburn Middle School and is expected to take over for current North Atlanta principal Mark MyGrant in November.

Taylor was the principal at Crews Middle School from 2006 to 2008 and the assistant principal for instruction at North Gwinnett High School from 2003 to 2006, according to the Atlanta Public Schools live blog from the meeting.

He has also taught high school World History and US Government and served as chair of both departments. He was an assistant professor in the College of Education at Georgia State University from 1998 to 2000.
