Holy Spirit Prep Student Aces Admissions Tests
The young woman is drawing praise for earning perfect scores on the two most common college admissions exams.
It's a pretty big deal if someone aces the SAT. It's a similarly big deal if someone aces the ACT.
How big of a deal is it when someone aces both the SAT and the ACT on the first try?
That's the remarkable story of Holy Spirit Preparatory's Meredith Jones, who scored a 36 on the ACT and a 2400 on the SAT in June. The College Board estimates that only 1 out of every 100 SAT takers get a perfect score on the exam.
WSB-TV reports that Jones has also lettered in soccer, basketball, and cross country at Holy Spirit, and will serve as the highest student body representative for girls during the 2014-15 school year. She is also close to attaining a Gold Award from the Girl Scouts
Success seems to run in the family; Jones' brother Todd was Holy Spirit's valedictorian in 2012 and is now attending Harvard University.
Meredith is currently undecided on her future college, but seeks a school with strong chemistry and classics programs.
