At North Carolina last week, Loudermilk and UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp cut the ribbon at the dedication ceremony for a new strength and conditioning center for UNC student athletes, according to a news release. The center will be part of the Loudermilk Center for Excellence, funded by donations from Loudermilk, a 1950 UNC graduate.

The Carolina Leadership Academy Alumni Leader of Distinction Award  recognizes a UNC alumnus who embodies and exemplifies the Carolina Leadership Academy motto: Developing World-Class Leaders for a Lifetime of Success and Service. The Leadership Academy supports student-athletes, coaches and staff.
