Marines Visit Morris Brandon for Veterans Day

Servicemen sign autographs for students, receive posters and baked goods, read patriotic books and help with Pledge of Allegiance and flag raising.

Three Marines visited Friday morning for Veterans Day, signing autographs for students — who wore the red, white and blue — and reading patriotic books.

Sgt. Thomas Shirley, Pvt. First Class Ben Frazier and Staff Sgt. Guarionex Illas received posters from the students thanking them for their service. Moms presented them with baked goods. The Marine Corps celebrated its 236th birthday on Thursday.

"You're like rock stars," Principal Karen Evens told the men, who also participated in the raising of the American flag and the Pledge of Allegiance.
