Buckhead resident Nancy Meister has announced that she is running for reelection for the District 4 seat of the Atlanta Board of Education.
Meister said in a press release about her candidacy:
“Serving as your District 4 representative on the Atlanta Board of
Education for the past 4 years has been very challenging and extremely
rewarding. While our school system has made progress in many areas, I believe
that much more must be accomplished and that my Board of Education
experience equips me to be a critical part of our system's future
In years past Meister served as PTA President at Sutton Middle School, Founding member of the North Atlanta High School Foundation, and more, according to the announcement.
“As both an elected Board member and volunteer, my focus has been to help build schools of excellence and equity. In fact, as I seek reelection, I am more passionate today about the need to continue on this journey, " Meister said. "It is my strong desire to further serve this community and city as a productive and useful member of the Board of Education. I believe that our children, all of our children, are our most precious resource and that our public school system, one of a city’s greatest assets, must be effective and trustworthy.”
