North Atlanta Warriors Take on Their Future

Close to 250 graduating seniors received their diplomas at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center.

Cheers rang out in the main auditorium at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on Thursday as parents, friends and loved ones watched close to 250  North Atlanta seniors make their way to the stage.

This year's commencement exercises had the theme "If You Believe..." which resounded throughout the speeches by principal Mark MyGrant, Gueorgui Terziev, valedictorian for the 2011 graduating class, and Grace Shea, the school's salutatorian.

This year's graduating class also had numerous honors and accolades to add to the school's prestigious history, which has the oldest International Baccalaureate Diploma program in the Southeast.

Seniors received l in excess of $19 million in scholarship money for continuing education. The most notable award was a $425,000 scholarship for Marcus Mack to attend the U.S. Naval Academy.

Other honors included a $219,000 scholarship for Tufayel Ahmed to attend Emory University, a $225,000 scholarship for Diondra Hicks to attend Vanderbilt University, and Mishka  Moncrieffe being named a Gates Millenium Scholar with an award of $360,000 for her continuing education.
