North Atlanta HS Student Named 2013 National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Ian Katz has been added to the list of APS students named as a 2013 finalist.


Ian Katz, of North Atlanta High School, has been named a 2013 National Merit Scholarship Corporation Finalist. Ian is one of seven high school students in the Atlanta Public School system to be named as a finalist for the award, according to the APS Blog.

According to the National Merit Corporation, "the National Merit and Achievement Scholarship is one of the most coveted recognitions a high school student could achieve."

The students were chosen based on their GPA, SAT scores, personal essays/applications, and school evaluation. Ian Katz made it past 16,000 semifinalists and is among roughly 8,000 students nationwide who will receive a scholarship from the National Merit Corporation.
