Pace Boys' Soccer Team to Face Providence Christian in Class A Final Four

The Knights seek payback vs. the Stars with ticket to state championship on the line

Revenge will be heavy on the minds of boys' soccer team when they take the field today’s Class A Final Four contest vs.visiting Providence Christian Academy. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Riverview Road Athletic Complex.

In AA action, Westminster's boys will play at home against Cross Keys. The game begins at 8 tonight.

Providence edged Pace 2-1 on March 3 to give the Knights their first loss of the season. It was only one of three losses dealt to Pace the entire year.

The team is 15-3 for the season, with its most recent win coming in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Hebron Christian Academy for the right to advance to the state semifinals.

Pace trailed most of the game against Hebron, who jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first half. But in the second, Pace scored quickly, and followed the initial goal up with what would be the game winner at the 20-minute mark on a goal by Billy Tutt. Tutt had a goal and an assist in the win.

Head coach Brooks Flemings' squad will graduate six seniors this year, so the team is looking to go out on a high note and win it all.
