Pace Senior Awarded Best of Show

Artist wins 'Brush With Fame' painting competition at Pace

senior Christine Chang was awarded the "Best of Show" prize for the Buckhead school's annual “A Brush with Fame” painting competition, which ends Sunday.

The exhibit, sponsored by Art Supplies and Frames, included student artists from the Atlanta Girls’ School, the Holy Innocents' Episcopal School, the , Mount Pisgah Christian School, North Gwinnett High School, Pace, Riverwood International Charter School, Wesleyan School, the Wheeler High School and Woodward Academy.

The competition was organized by Pace Fine Arts faculty member Donice Bloodworth and juried by Emily Hermans, coordinator of school programs for the High Museum of Art.

Here are the award winners:

Best in Show award, Pace  senior Christine Chang.

Kayla Alexander (Woodward Academy), Minjae Kim (Mount Pisgah Christian School) and Elle Stang (Pace Academy) won second-place prizes.

Barry Duperon (Tri-Cities High School) and Matt O’Brien (Pace) took home third-place prizes.

Exceptional Merit awards went to Sarah Elizabeth Lantz (Woodward Academy), Lakota Rich (Galloway School), Safa Quadri (Atlanta Girls’ School) and Emily Wilson (Pace Academy).
