A North Atlanta High School student, who reportedly fell unconscious after returning from a bathroom last week, was observed with a syringe sticking out of his sock.

A North Atlanta High School student was arrested after a suspected drug overdose in a classroom last week according to a WSB TV report.

The news outlet reports that the student, who was observed with a syringe sticking out of his sock, told a responding EMS that he had taken "an opium with a syringe."

The student, who fell unconscious after returning from a bathroom at the Buckhead school, was charged with possession of heroin on a school campus. The incident is being investigated as a disciplinary matter according to Atlanta Public Schools.
