Sarah Smith Elementary Readies for Thanksgiving Performance

The school chorus will sing at the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 28.

The Sarah Smith Elementary 4th and 5th Grade Chorus will be the only school chorus to perform at this year's annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Tree Lighting Festivities.

This is the 66th year for the tree lighting event, and the first time that the Smith chorus will perform.

EDG, a local productions company, produces the live Macy's show in three major cities – Chicago, San Francisco and Atlanta. The familiarity company officials have with Sarah Smith's music program led to the invitation. The school chorus is under the dedicated direction of music director Neil Thompson. In July, EDG extended the invitation to the Sarah Smith Chorus to be part of this year's Atlanta show. The lineup will include local and national musical talent.
