Two Westminster Seniors, Tennis Coach Honored at Sports Banquet

Seniors Dylan Jeffay, Sarah Grady and boys' tennis coach Wade Boggs recognized at Eighth Annual Sports Champions of Greater Atlanta Banquet at the Cobb Energy Centre.

Recently, seniors Dylan Jeffay and Sarah Grady, along with boys’ tennis coach Wade Boggs, were honored during the eighth annual Sports Champions of Greater Atlanta Banquet at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

The banquet highlights and recognize the accomplishments of 18 high school seniors and four coaches in five metro area counties — Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett. The outstanding student-athletes were chosen from over 100 nominations and were honored on the basis of athletics, scholastics and character.

Coaches were honored on their teams’ performances and on the leadership skills and influence they have had on young people for many years.

The keynote speaker at the awards banquet included Hugh Durham, former basketball coach at Florida State University, University of Georgia and Jacksonville University.

Sports Champions of Greater Atlanta is an organization dedicated to honoring student-athletes and community service.  As a result of money collected from this banquet and the sponsors, Sports Champions of Greater Atlanta was able to make a donation to underfunded athletic programs in the five counties they serve.
