Variety Collecting School Supplies for Disadvantaged Youth

Variety of Georgia, a children's charity, is accepting school supply donations for disadvantaged youth via a collection bin at inside , now through August 17.

Items being accepted include pens, pencils, notebook paper, glue, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, folders and binders. 

A representative with Variety of Georgia said the organization plans to fill and deliver 3,000 backpacks — 500 more than last year — with school supplies for distribution to local schools and shelters. 

Variety of Georgia's mission is to aid and enhance the lives of children in need who may be challenged by physical and/or mental disabilities, poverty, abuse or neglect.
