Buckhead Schools Work on Habitat for Humanity Home

Lovett, Westminster and Pace students, along with those from Marist and Woodward, build house to be dedicated Nov. 19

Students from Buckhead private schools are working together to build the 20th house constructed for Habitat for Humanity.

Juniors and seniors from , and , along with students from Marist and Woodward, have been joining together since Oct. 8 to build the house at 1088 Kipling St. SE.

The work will continue through Nov. 12, with the home to be dedicated at noon Nov. 19. The schools' headmasters and presidents and Habitat leaders will attend the ceremony, at which Lovett headmaster Billy Peebles will speak, according to a Lovett news release.

Lovett lower and middle school students raised money for equipment and supplies, according to the news release. In addition, upper school students  helped design the Lovett vs. Westminster football game T-shirt, all of whose proceeds went to  benefit Habitat for Humanity. 

The school also purchased a bench to give as a housewarming gift to the family that moves into the home. Students stained and decorated the bench, which will be placed on the front porch of the new home, the news release said.
