Cartoon Network Invites Fans to Help Create 20th Birthday Mural at Centennial Park
WHAT: Atlanta-based Cartoon Network, one of Turner Broadcasting’s premier cable networks, is preparing to celebrate its 20th Birthday on Oct. 1. In preparation for this key milestone, the network will create a giant mural depicting more than 100 cartoon characters associated with Cartoon Network’s first 20 years.
Fans of all ages are invited to come to Centennial Olympic Park—near the Fountain of Rings—to participate with “coloring in” of a large black-and-white line-art drawing on vinyl. To keep the energy going, Cartoon Network will provide free popcorn for all participants, and will offer a free 20th Birthday poster for everyone who contributes their colorful artistry to the final mural. An onsite DJ also will offer musical accompaniment to “inspire” everyone’s best work.
Once completed, the mural will be framed and mounted for public viewing in the center atrium at CNN Center. There the mural will be on display from Sept. 24 to Oct. 8.
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, 12 – 4 p.m.
