Pace Academy Girls Win State Cross Country Title

The boys team finished seventh, with senior Josh Rogers leading the team individually by finishing seventh in the race.

The Pace Academy varsity girls and boys cross country teams capped off an amazing season at the state meet in Carrollton on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The girls team finished the season the way it started–as the "Pace Pack" that brought them the region title. They packed all seven runners in from the 16th to the 31st position to win state 99 points over second-place Providence Christian Academy.

Freshman Julia Ross was first for the team, followed by junior Lacey O'Sullivan, senior Callie Cunningham, sophomore Jilly Paul, seniors Emilia Tripodi and Elle Stang and junior Hannah Kelly.

This is the first state championship title for the girls cross-country team since 2004. Congratulations to both teams and head coaches Jolie and Steve Cunningham on a spectacular season.

Boys Team Finishes 7th

Senior Josh Rogers finished seventh overall for the boys, landing on the All-State podium. The boys team, this year's region runner-up, finished seventh in the state. Rogers was followed to the line by junior Mark Grenader, freshmen Max Irvine, Rob Warren and Connor LaMastra, and sophomores Xori Johnson and Alec Rogers.
