Westminster's Swim Teams Dominate Metro Swim Meet

The Westminster Swim Teams showed that the school's swimming program was one of the very best in metro Atlanta.

Members of the Westminster swim team were channeling their inner Michael Phelps this past weekend when they dominated the 43rd Metro Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Wildcats, who hosted the championships of about 25 teams from throughout Fulton County and other parts of the state, won the boys meet with 180 points and the girls meet with 233.

Westminster won four different relays: girls 400 freestyle (3:32.37), the boys 400 freestyle (3:15.80), the girls 200 medley (1:49.54) and the girls 200 freestyle (1:38.88), the GPB News reported.

Westminster senior Nicole Stafford won both the 100 backstroke (56.11) and 200 Freestyle (1:50.79). Another Westminster swimming champion Jamie Christy won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.84) and 200 IM (2:08.44), according to this report from GPB News.
