Buckhead will be alive with events and celebrations on July 4. Here is a list of the biggest events, along with some select businesses offering extra special deals in relation to the the two main events that day - the AJC 2012 Peachtree Road Race and Lenox Square's 53rd annual fireworks celebration. Read on to find all the details and extra info for the Fourth of July in Buckhead that you'll need!

AJC 2012 Peachtree Road Race

Organized by the Atlanta Track Club, the Peachtree Road Race is expected to attract 60,000 runners of all ages eager to take part in the world's largest 10K. A July 4 tradition, the race will start at Lenox Square at 7:30 a.m. and finish at Piedmont Park.

Market's Annual Fourth Fest

Spend the day on patio to enjoy drink specials and music from DJ Hakim, who will begin spinning music early in the morning for the Peachtree Road Race. The event will benefit Operation Homefront and will also feature local bands throughout the day leading up to Lenox Square's fireworks display.

Lenox Square's 53rd Annual July 4th Celebration

Lenox Square's fireworks display is the biggest in the Southeast, attracting over 200,000 attendees. Family-friendly fun will be offered leading up to the fireworks including various activities, food concessions, and performances from local bands Party on the Moon and Sons of Sailors. The main attraction will be a 20-minute fireworks display (of course) accompanied by patriotic music. For those willing to brave the large crowd, the event is free. The music starts at 6 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at 9:35 p.m. 

Best/Swankiest View in the City?

Located on top of the , panoramic views of the city's skyline make it a great spot (maybe even the best spot) to take in Lenox Square's fireworks show. Enjoy the show with signature cocktails and food from the Happy Belly food truck while DJ Chris Rimby gets the night started with good tunes. This event will cost $25-$30 and will kick off at 4 p.m.

Independence Day at Shula's 347 Grill

Join Grill from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. for a patriotic patio party, featuring outdoor entertainment, a classic cookout with food and drink specials and most importantly, an excellent view of Lenox Square's "Legendary 4th Fireworks."

Chastain Park July 4th Parade and Festival

will celebrate July 4 with fun for the entire family. The activities will include waterslides, live music, pool games, pony rides and inflatable moonwalks. The firetrucks and firemen from Station 27 will be there as well. Festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m. on West Wieuca Road and Dudley Lane.

MODA's Fourth of July Art/Skate Jam

The Museum of Design Atlanta will be hosting a July 4th celebration centered around its most recent exhibit, Skate It or Hang It!?, at the Shops Around Lenox. This extreme sports meets art event will feature skating demos every hour, a food truck court, an artists alley with 12 Atlanta-based artists, a live tagging demo by HENSE and a painting demo by Chris Hamer. Guests can also expect plenty of sponsor giveaways. Best of all, the event is free!
