Why go: The focus of the Georgia Music Awards is to recognize Georgia artists in Rock, Hip Hop, Country and R&B. The goal is to make this event more and more beneficial to Georgia artists to support the great music made right here in the Peachtree state.

Why go: This fun night with drinks and raffle prizes will be for a good cause, benefitting Georgia English Bulldog Rescue, which relies soley on donations for the care and treatment of the rescued Bulldogs that are admitted to their organization.

5. Skate It, Hang It or Drink It
Where/When: 188 14th St NE, Atlanta, GA / June 16, 2012
Why go: To celebrate the launch of the Skate It or Hang It!? The Evolution of Skateboard Art exhibit at the Museum of Design Atlanta, Gerber Group’s Living Room, Whiskey Park and W Atlanta – Midtown have teamed up with MODA to host the official opening day after party, aptly named “Skate It, Hang It or Drink It.”
From 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., the front driveway of W Atlanta – Midtown will be transformed into a pop-up skate park (ramp and all!) featuring a freestyle performance by the skate professionals from 5BORO NYC. Enjoy the show from the Living Room patio as you revel in signature sips, bites and spins by DJ Brian Parris.
From 9 p.m. – 3 a.m., grab your board and head upstairs to Whiskey Park, where the outdoor patio will feature skate-centric signature works from artists including Atlanta street photographer Rob Simmons. Mix and mingle in the Crystal Lounge as you enjoy cocktails and dance to beat of DJ Kidd Koby Roc while vintage skate documentaries are projected on the glass walls.
