Peachtree Road Farmers Market Opens for 7th Season

Chef Linton Hopkins will perform a free chef demo at the market at 10 a.m., and 500 shoppers will receive free reusable canvas market bags.

As thousands descend on Atlanta, including Buckhead, for this weekend's NCAA Final Four tournament, about 3,000 people will flock to opening day of the Peachtree Road Farmers Market on Saturday.

This year marks the seventh season of the popular Buckhead farmers market, which kicks off Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with the opening bell ringing and market blessing. Market visitors are encouraged to bring their own bells and noisemakers and join the celebration.

Chef Linton Hopkins of Restaurant Eugene will offer a free chef demo at 10 a.m. Hopkins helped found the Peachtree Road Farmers Market and last year was named by the prestigious James Beard Foundation as the Southeast's best chef.
