Veterans Park Holds Special Ceremony for Vets

Special Ceremony at Veterans Park: The Atlanta History Center holds a special ceremony for Veterans Day, from 11-11:30 a.m. today. Special Veterans Day Park hours are from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., with free parking and no charge for visiting the park.

Stories of Sacrifice: Listening to America's Veterans: Commemorate Veterans Day at the Atlanta History Center by hearing firsthand accounts of sacrifice and bravery from the voices of veterans. This free evening event highlights veterans’ personal stories recorded and preserved by the Atlanta History Center and StoryCorps. The free event will start at 7 p.m. in Woodruff Auditorium, McElreath Hall, 130 West Paces Ferry Road NW, Atlanta.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue: Buckhead Theatre will be the location for a concert by the band on Wednesday, Nov. 13, plus JuBee and The Morning After. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 8 p.m.

Actress Performs at Covenant Presbyterian: Covenant Presbyterian Church (www.covenantpresbyterian.us) presents the third and final presentation of its 2013 Mitchell Speaker Series at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, with a performance by popular Atlanta actress Brenda Bynum.  Endowed by the Mitchell Women’s Christian Education Fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church, this year’s theme is “Take a Risk, Make a Difference”, and all of the presentations are free and open to the public.

Tongue and Groove Almost Out of its Teens: Atlanta’s most iconic nightclub, Tongue and Groove, cellebrates almost two decades of serving up the most electrifying nights in Atlanta during a celebration of epic proportions on Thursday, Nov. 14. The Tongue and Groove team will kick off their 19th anniversary celebration with a VIP reception from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Holiday Gift Show Offers Special Ladies Preview: Northside Methodist Preschool will hold its annual Holiday Gift Show on Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a special Ladies Preview Night on Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  The show will be held at Northside United Methodist Church, located in Buckhead at 2799 Northside Drive, in the Fellowship Hall and the Gymnasium.
