Kites Take Flight, Diners Don Costumes and Festival Offer Family Fun in Buckhead

This weekend may have cool temperatures, but it offers plenty of entertainment.

A Century of Atlanta Architecture: Rendering Atlanta presents more than a century of architectural design through detailed architectural renderings from the Atlanta History Center's collections. A sample of colorful illustrations of Atlanta's homes, schools, churches and other notable buildings and landscapes will be on display, along with the tools used to create them. The free exhibition is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. 5 p.m. through February. 

Kites to Soar Over Piedmont Park: Saturday, Oct. 26, noon at Piedmont Park in the meadow. The 2nd Annual Atlanta World Kite Festival and Expo is an event that was created to incorporate outdoor family fun with kites, food and family entertainment. There will be costume contests, kids fun zone, pumpkin decorating contest, food vendors, arts and craft vendors, music, kite demonstrations and of course, kite flying. Halloween Costumes & Contests: Halloween Costume Party and Dinner at the Imperial Fez Restaurant. Highlights Include: Spooktacular belly dancers, Halloween hookahs, Costume contest 7:30, 8:30 & 9:30 (Each hourly winner wins $150).  2285 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta GA 30309

Family Fun at Fall Festival: Sarah Smith Elementary holds its annual fall festival for all of its students, families, alumni and neighbors on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will be at the primary campus at 370 Old Ivy Road. In addition to the usual activities such as crafts, face painting, inflatables, brain games and Tae Kwon Do, bungee jump, fortune teller, Kiddos Kreep Hall, food and a caricature artist will be on hand.

Halloween BOOnanza: A Social Mess presents Halloween BOOnanza Part IV. Come don your fabulous Miley Cyrus costume with 2,000 of your new best friends at the Buckhead Theatre from 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 to 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. A slew of DJs, bands, multiple rooms and lasers help set the mood.
