Visit Art Exhibit and Help Atlanta Food Bank, Discover Native American Heritage

Art Exhibit Benefits Food Bank: The Holiday Exhibition opens Friday, Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m. at Mason Murer. Admission is free, but we ask that everyone bring a new unwrapped toy to brighten the holidays for less fortunate families, or make a tax deductible donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The lineup includes Richard Mayhew, Terri Dilling, Keiko Gonzales, Eleanor Neal, Luke Allsbrook, Robert Marx, Amana Johnson, Jeanie Tomanek, Michelle Marcuse, Pam Moxley, Ashley Surber, Beth Filson, Pedro Fuertes, Lance Lamont, Steve Steinman, and NFN Kaylan. There will also be an exhibition of artworks done by The Georgia Art Therapy Association, and a VSA Arts of Georgia Annual Holiday Show and Sale. Food will be available for purchase from Just Loafin and The Atlanta Burger Truck. On Saturday, Nov. 9, renowned artist Robert Marx will be giving a lecture about his artwork from noon to 2 pm.

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month: Saturday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m-4 p.m. at the Atlanta History Center. Spend a day exploring history, culture, and family fun as you discover Southeastern Native American heritage and culture through a variety of craft demonstrations, performances, and discussions led by Native American artists and experts. Featured activities include storytelling, demonstrations, and discussions about tool making, commerce and trade, hide tanning, fire making, games, and traditional crafts, such as pottery.
