Weekend Planner: Punch Party, Poverty Simulation and Chili

Punch Party: The Living Room at W Atlanta – Buckhead will be hosting a spirited event featuring seven of Atlanta’s most distinguished mixologists on Sunday. Each bartender will be bringing his or her own big batch of boozy punch for a crowd-sourced competition. This event is free and open to the public (21+) from 4–6 p.m. Guests will join three industry judges in sampling the bartenders’ signature creations and voting for their favorites via Instagram (@watlbuckhead). The winning bartender will receive great prizes including a stay at the W, a VIP table at Whiskey Blue and, of course, city-wide bragging rights.

PRUMC Poverty Simulation: A powerful, hands-on experience to help us learn more about the daily challenges facing the poor in Atlanta. Sunday, Oct. 13, 4:30-8 p.m.

Atlanta Cheese Festival: Gourmet Foods International (GFI) is celebrating “milk’s leap toward immortality” by showcasing more than 50 of the most recognized and celebrated cheese and artisan food producers from across the globe in the inaugural Atlanta Cheese Festival. Friday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Park Tavern.

Second Annual Brookhaven Chili Cook-off: Get out and enjoy a fun Autumn day in the heart of Brookhaven! The event will be held on Apple Valley Road and parking lots in Warehouse District just north of Dresden Drive and walking distance from Brookhaven Marta station. Saturday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m.
