POLL: Do You Want Video Ads in Your Facebook News Feed?

The social media company plans to introduce video ad units.

If you don't like the ads you currently see in your news feed, you may find the next generation of Facebook ads particularly annoying.

On Dec. 17, the social media company announced plans to introduce video ad units into user news feeds. The videos will begin playing automatically, but will remain muted unless the user clicks on the video. The video ads will be displayed to desktop and mobile users.

According to USA Today, the video ad units could fetch $1-2.5 million per day to reach the social media company's entire audience of 1.2 billion users.

Though Facebook officials reportedly recognize the risk of upsetting users, the reward of a successful foray into the online video advertising market would be great. Forbes reports online video ad revenues are expected to increase almost 40 percent this year to $5.8 billion in the United States.
