POLL: Have You Read an e-Book Yet?

A recent study shows more Americans are reading e-books, but print books remain the more popular choice.

Would you rather read an e-book or a print edition? Though still lagging behind print versions, the popularity of e-books is growing, according to a recent survey conducted by Pew Research.

In 2013, 28 percent of adults read an e-book, up from 23 percent in 2012. Most people who read e-books also read print books, the survey revealed. Only 4 percent of readers indicated they only read e-books.

The study attributes the growing popularity of e-books to an increase in tablet device ownership. Forty-two percent of American now own tablet computers and ownership of e-book readers including Kindle and Nook devices jumped from 24 percent in September of 2013 to 32 percent after the holidays.
