UPDATED: North Atlanta High Principal Issues Letter About Alleged Sexual Assault

Student rape victim said the suspect sent her texts, and she fears she is now pregnant, according to the police report.

A female North Atlanta High student reported being raped by a male suspect in the girls' restroom during lunch in early May. According to a report from the Atlanta Police Department, the girl said the male student approached her during lunch in the cafeteria and said he wanted to "show her something." He then escorted her to the girls' restroom, according to the report. Once inside, the suspect put on a condom, the female student reported that the suspect then raped her. During the incident, the female student asked the suspect to stop, and he told her not to tell anyone, according to the police report. The following police reports were filed May 5-11 by Zone 2 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to Buckhead Patch. During this period, the zone filed 107 police reports. Couple Indicted for Sex-Trafficking Juvenile from Buckhead Home

The girl was required to earn rent money and forced to perform commercial sex acts.

A federal grand jury indicted a couple on charges of sex trafficking a juvenile and conspiring to do the same, running the operation from a Buckhead home. “These defendants preyed on a young girl in need requiring her to have sex with men if she wanted to keep a roof over her head,” stated U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates. “Trafficking children is appalling and unacceptable.  With the help of our partners in the community, we will press on with efforts to reach those who are being exploited, and prosecute those who choose to engage in this inhumane practice.” According to Yates, Steven E. Yes, as I've been researching thoroughly for nearly three years about sex trafficking in Atlanta, I haven't come across any facts that it's limited to young black women as Michael stated. Sex trafficking is not limited to any race and not even limited to women. New Charge for Suspect in Robbery, I-75 Chase

She was arrested Monday on a charge of armed robbery.

A Dallas woman arrested in connection with a robbery and high-speed chase, which ended in Buckhead and forced authorities Monday afternoon to temporarily shut down Interstate 75 in both directions, faces a new charge. Ancely Faye Green, 39, was arrested Monday on a charge of armed robbery, said Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department. According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, she now faces an additional charge of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense. Other new details are outlined in the warrant, including the fact that the woman was "homeless" at the time of the incident. Suspected Buckhead Carjackers Arrested in a Home in SW Atlanta

U.S. Marshals arrested a man in connection with carjackings occurring in Buckhead.

U.S. Marshals surrounded a home on Tarragon Way SW, near Adamsville, on Friday afternoon while following a lead in a recent string of Buckhead carjackings. Buckhead Patch first reported of the rear-ending carjacking tactic in the April 22 Buckhead Crime Blotter.  Buckhead Patch also first reported the warning from police about the nature of these carjackings. Thieves Make Off with $30K in Jewelry from Phipps Plaza

Atlanta Police are investigating the jewelry heist.

Atlanta Police are investigating a Wednesday morning theft at Belk at Phipps Plaza where two men made off with $30,000 in jewelry. According to reports, the two men entered the department store. After one man smashed the glass jewelry case with a hammer, the other lifted a tray of diamond earrings, valued at approximately $30,000. The men were last seen in a parking deck adjacent to Phipps Plaza. Police responded to the call about the heist around 11:10 a.m., according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to report to Crime Stoppers (404) 577-8477, where they may remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.

Buckhead Silver Thefts 'Related' to Columbus, GA Thefts

Similar thefts have been committed in four other states. Police have not officially stated if they believe they're all related.

A thief who has invaded a Columbus, GA neighborhood and gotten away with thousands of dollars of silverware, bowls and other valuables may be the same silverware stealer who's targeted Buckhead time and again since April 2011. Columbus Police are investigating four silverware thefts over a 10-day span in the neighborhood along the Chattahoochee River. Atlanta Police say the thefts are similar to the Buckhead silver thefts. "They are related," said Atlanta Detective Drew Bahry in a report from Columbus' Ledger-Enquirer. "We know with almost a 100 percent certainty." Thefts now have spread to about five states, including Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee, according to the Ledger-Enquirer's report. Buckhead Patch …

Police Warn of Buckhead Rear-Ending Carjacking Tactic

Buckhead's Zone 2 Commander Major Van Hobbs gives safety tips for possible carjacking victims.

Atlanta Police's Zone 2 Commander Major Van Hobbs is warning Buckhead drivers about a new tactic carjacking suspects are using to get drivers out of their cars– rear-ending their vehicles, robbing them and speeding away in their vehicles once the victims get out to inspect potential damage.
