The Week Ahead in Buckhead: Help Cure Cerebral Palsy, ADAC's 30th Annual Sample Sale

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the 1913 Leo Frank trial, The Cuba Family Archives for Southern Jewish History and Tam Institute for Jewish Studies at Emory University welcome Dr. Hasia Diner, The Paul S. and Sylvia Steinberg Professor of American Jewish History at New York University. Prom Dresses Make Dreams Come True

Thriftique helps young women find right looks for big night

From Patch Reports A group of excited young women found their perfect prom dresses Thursday night at the Buckhead Thriftique. The 15 young women felt like princesses as they left with free dresses and shoes. Without the service, many of the girls might not have been able to attend their proms, according to an announcement from the thrift store, run by Buckhead Christian Ministry. Buckhead Thriftique gives free clothing to the homeless and people in need. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m. and is located at 800 Miami Circle, Suite 160.  The store accepts donations of clothing, shoes, household items, electronics, and books during regular business hours. Psychotherapist Dr. Janet Page to present workshop Saturday on losing weight through lifelong eating plan

From Patch Reports Buckhead psychotherapist Dr. Janet Page will present a “Conscious Eating Workshop” Saturday at Park Place on Peachtree, 2660 Peachtree Road. Page, author of "Get Married This Year," will discuss how to develop a lifelong eating plan and make healthy food choices, according to an announcement. The workshop will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Satursay and costs $50. Elizabeth Smart to Appear at Child Safety Luncheon

Buckhead event to give information on radKIDS program

From Patch Reports Nationally known child safety advocate Elizabeth Smart will appear at a "take action" safety seminar for parents, educators and community leaders at noon Thursday, March 15, at the Buckhead Theatre. Smart was kidnapped at age 14 and rescued nine months later in a case that received massive national attention. She is now president of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation and an ABC News special correspondent. She will participate in the event along with Steve Daley of Keep Georgia Safe and founder of radKIDS, a child safety program. The lunch is spsonsored by the Buckhead Alliance and Keep Georgia Safe. Girl Scouts CEO to Address BBA

From Patch Reports Marilyn W. Midyette, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, will speak at the Buckhead Business Association's weekly breakfast meeting Thursday. Legoland Job Fair and Other Weekend Events

Here's a look at Buckhead happenings

Buckhead offers a selection of events for the Presidents Day weekend. Here are a few things going on. Legoland Discovery Center Atlanta will have a job fair Saturday and Sunday. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 18, and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel and Conference Center, 3405 Lenox Road. At North Atlanta High, Piedmont Hospital is sponsoring the Move N' Groove dance and health-screening day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday. The Georgia Boy Choir concludes its Boy Choir festival with a concert at 7 p.m. at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.
