Big Peach Zizzler begins in Chamblee, finishes in Buckhead; event benefits Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Runners will spread through the heart of Buckhead Labor Day morning for the Big Peach Sizzler 10K road race. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Monday at Chamblee MARTA Station at 5200 New Peachtree Road in Chamblee. After the start, the course heads briefly north, then turns south down Peachtree Road into Buckhead. At Piedmont Road,the course will turn right to Lenox Road, then finishes at the Buckhead Station Shopping Center, 1 Buckhead Loop. The race wlll benefit organizations seeking to stop cystic fibrosis.

Runners compete at Chastain Park in last event of Atlanta Track Club's Grand Prix season
The Atlanta Track Club Saturday ran its Grand Finale 5K of the 2010-2011 Grand Prix season. Hundreds came out to participate in the race that began at Galloway School and was run on a new course around Chastain Park. Onlookers came to cheer from the sides. An awards ceremony and ATC member brunch followed the race. The Grand Prix season was a series of races in which cumulative points are awarded. Here is a look at the race through photographs.

From Patch Staff Reports The Atlanta Track Club'a Grand Finale 5K Saturday morning in Buckhead will conclude the club's 2010-11 Grand Prix season. The race beginning at Galloway School wll be run on a new course around Chastain Park, according to the Buckhead-based ATC's web site. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. The Grand Prix awards ceremony and ATC member brunch will follow the race, starting at 9:30 a.m. The Grand Prix season is a series of races in which cumulative points are awarded. The race is free for ATC members and $10 for non-members. Online preregistration for the event ends at noon Friday. Those registering on race day must do so by 7 a.m. to be included in the race results and the Grand Prix standings.
