Yes, more apartments coming to Buckhead.
How many times have you seen that headline in the last five months? Well, get used to it. Even more apartments are coming to Buckhead. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the building was developed in the 1970s and was foreclosed upon in October for $7 million. Lyon Communities Development, based in Newport Beach, CA, is redeveloping the office building and named COE as its design firm. COE is best known for its renovation of Hollywood Palladium nightclub on Sunset Boulevard and has also worked on various high-profile residential …

Seven of the top 10 most expensive homes/condos sold in Atlanta for the first half of 2012 are in Buckhead, according to a recent report by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The second highest-priced home sold so far this year (for a cool $5.9 million) is located at 1215 Mount Paran Road in Buckhead. The top spot, however, belongs to 3410 Ridgewood Drive ($6 million) in Dekalb County. While a Buckhead home may not have come in at number one on the list, homes/condos here do comprise six other spots in the top ten. The report shows that, while the Atlanta housing market remains tough, high priced homes are still changing hands — the majority of which are right here in Buckhead. Click here for the complete list.

Give your comments on what type of business should take over this prime Peachtree Road space.
The closure of BluePointe last year left empty a rectangular, turquoise-colored structure on Peachtree Road. The vacant property is near another high-profile empty place, the old Filene's location. Another restuarant might be a good fit for the distinctive place on Peachtree Road. Clearer material would allow diners to look out and walkers to look in. That would especially make for urban excitement when the Buckhead Boulevard project is complete. Thinking back to the old days of TV, when the "Today Show" and "American Bandstand" used to show the street traffic outside their studio windows, maybe a Buckhead-based TV show could set up there. Are you listening CNN? Let us know in Comments your ideas for the site.
