Arrests Made After Piedmont Road Burglary

Items stolen after the May 24 incident were recovered.

Two suspects were arrested by the Atlanta Police Department Thursday after a Piedmont Road residence was burglarized. APD dispatch gave out a burglary in progress call at 2115 Piedmont Rd #1309. The victim came home to find his door kicked open. Two suspects that were later arrested were allegedly inside the location going through his items.  Both subject fled the location on foot. The homeowner chased the suspects, calling out for residents to call 911.  Officer Mustapha and Officer Sauberan arrived at the location and took suspect Taim Gooding, 29, in custody in the corner of the ground level parking lot.  Officer Sauberan gave out a lookout of the second suspect and a direction of travel. Zone 2 Commander Maj. Hobbs Responds to Concerns

He took time to to address issues by Buckhead Patch readers and talk about how he is approaching his new job.

Maj. Van Hobbs was named the Atlanta Police Department's new Zone 2 commander in late April. While he is still new to the position, he took time to speak with Buckhead Patch on Monday to respond to concerns voiced by our readers. He also talked about his first few weeks on the job and what he sees as the biggest crime related issues facing Buckhead. On recent burglaries in North Buckhead: Hobbs said that while burglaries have indeed been up in the last several weeks, burglaries are down 11-percent overall and down eight-percent from the same time period last year.
