Hunger Games fans that turned out in droves to see the film's cast at Lenox Square in Buckhead earlier this year might get the chance to see their favorite stars in person again — this time doing what they do best. Access Atlanta is reporting that “The Hunger Games” sequel will film in the Atlanta area starting this summer, according to a "well-placed source with direct knowledge of the project." “Catching Fire,” the second of the Hunger Games trilogy, will film July through December in metro Atlanta and beyond, the source reportedly said. The first “Hunger Games” movie, filmed in North Carolina, was a box office sensation. From Patch Reports "Hunger Games" stars stirred up Panem fever Tuesday, exciting fans in a Lenox Square appearance. The AJC's Jennifer Brett reported that more than 1,000 screaming fans showed up to see the actors who said hello at a big tent in the shopping mall's parking lot. Stars Liam Hemsworth, Leven Rambin, Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg and Jack Quaid also greeted star-gazers at the Lenox Microsoft store. The event was part of a national tour before the release of the movie about the post-apocalyptic world of Panem, based on the young adult novel by Suzanne Collins.

From Patch Reports The "Hunger Games" film stars will greet fans March 6 at Lenox Square, according to an announcement from the mall. Previous reports wrongly said the stars would appear at the J.W. Marriott hotel in Buckhead. Instead, the cast, as part of a national tour, will set up beneath a tent in the mall's front parking lot. Liam Hemsworth, Leven Rambin, Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg and Jack Quaid will make their appearance at Lenox Square from 5-6 p.m Tuesday, March 6, the announcement said. The gates open at 2:30 p.m. for the event, which is free and open to the public. No pets, chairs or alcohol are allowed.
