Georgia Geographic Bee champion to compete for national title
Nilai Sarda, a Westminster seventh grader, will compete for the National Geographic Bee championship after winning the state title in the event. Nilai won over 100 competitors in the Georgia Geographic Bee April 1 at Georgia College in Milledgeville, according to an announcement from the school. He will participate in the national championship, sponsored by the National Geographic Society, May 24-25 in Washington. Alex Trebek of "Jeopardy" will be the host of the event, in which Nilai will vie against more than 54 competitors in grades 4 to 8 for a $25,000 scholarship.
