The two-year project is nearly completed, and a ribbon-cutting event is scheduled to celebrate the new transformation of Peachtree Road to a "complete street."
The flowers have been planted and the benches along the sidewalks are now installed. Slowly, the orange barrels are being removed. No more turning onto Peachtree Road from Lenox only to be forced to immediately merge into one lane. Yep, it's true. The Peachtree Road improvements are finally complete after two years. The ribbon-cutting for Phase II of the Peachtree Road transformation will take place on Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is among the scheduled speakers at the event, which will take place outside the Pinnacle building across from Phipps Plaza. I was just visiting last Friday and noticed the concrete planters along p'tree st. most of the shrubs where half dead....... not to mention it took over 45m to drive from mathieson dr. to lenox mall at 330 in the afternoon........   more ›
