Peachtree Road Transformation Complete; Ribbon-Cutting Takes Place Tuesday

The improvements are now complete and several civic leaders are expected to attend the ribbon-cutting for the event today at 1:30 p.m.

The two-year project is nearly completed, and a ribbon-cutting event is scheduled to celebrate the new transformation of Peachtree Road to a "complete street."

The flowers have been planted and the benches along the sidewalks are now installed. Slowly, the orange barrels are being removed. No more turning onto Peachtree Road from Lenox only to be forced to immediately merge into one lane. Yep, it's true. The Peachtree Road improvements are finally complete after two years. The ribbon-cutting for Phase II of the Peachtree Road transformation will take place on Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is among the scheduled speakers at the event, which will take place outside the Pinnacle building across from Phipps Plaza.
