Buckhead Patch got an exclusive look at the Buckhead home featured in this weekend's Modern Atlanta Tour of Homes.
The Modern Atlanta Home Tour starts tomorrow, June 9, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. One home featured on the tour is that of Jim and Frances Zook, located at 1169 Milmar Drive in Buckhead. The only home from Buckhead on the tour, the Zook home is a modern wonder that came from humble beginnings. Frances is herself an architect with Clark and Zook Architects and began remodeling the home immediately after she and her husband purchased it in 2001. Frances said she chose to live in a modern home because of the many modern designed homes she worked on while living in Austin, Texas. While the split-level, mid centrury home was already modern, Frances updated it and helped take it to the next "level" through exstensive exterior and interior rennovations…

As part of Modern Atlanta's MA12 “Design is Human”, a panal discussion at Buckhead's "Design Within Reach" shed light on how modern design is influencing homes in the southern-traditional market.
From Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 10, Modern Atlanta will continue to host MA12 “Design is Human”, which is a series of events celebrating international design excellence and creative culture. For the fifth year in a row, MA12 establishes Atlanta as the design hub of the Southeastern United States and a sought-after destination for international design. MA12 features a citywide series of programs, including a tour of homes, that highlights design excellence in many areas of life: architecture, interior design, visual arts, and social responsibility.
