Holiday Monday to honor Washington, Lincoln
With Valentine's Day just past us, Presidents Day arrives Monday. The holiday commemorates George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, both born in Feburary, as well as other presidents. Buckhead's APS schools will be closed Friday through Monday for winter break. Private schools will observe the holiday Monday. Because it's a federal holiday, banks will be closed, and mail won't be delivered. Buckhead's libraries will be open, including the Northside and Buckhead branches. The Atlanta History Center will also be a place to take the kids. Supermarkets and Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza will be open, with some stores holdng Presidents' Day sales.
