2nd Annual "Cool Cars For Christ in Buckhead" Car Show to benefit Atlanta Police Foundation Life Insurance Fund

Atlanta Police Department officers face danger every day. Many do so
without the benefit of having life insurance coverage as part of their benefits
package. “Cool Cars For Christ In Buckhead” Car Show to be held on Saturday,
September 14, 2013., is will endeavor to help purchase term life insurance policies
for those brave and courageous public servants.

A wide variety of “mechanized gems” will be on display in the main
parking lot of Peachtree Presbyterian Church located at 3434 Roswell Road, N.W.
in the heart of Atlanta’s Buckhead area between the hours of 9:00am and 2:30pm,
rain or shine. Admission is free to show guests.

“Peachtree Presbyterian Church has been one of the initial supporters
of APF’s Life Insurance Fund. Our commitment to assisting in the procurement of
life insurance policies for all members of the Atlanta Police Department is
just one example of our congregation’s dedication towards making our community
a safer place by helping to protect those who serve all of us who live in and
around Atlanta” adds Pastor Penz.

To many car enthusiasts, the design concepts for several of their
favorite classic automobiles were influenced by some source of divine
inspiration. They bring back fond recollections of less complicated and more innocent times …
of long Sunday afternoon rides in the country and cruising down Main Street on
a warm summer night. These and many more memories will serve to lead
enthusiastic auto aficionados to attend this nostalgia infused family-oriented
event.

“There are many examples of man’s God given ability to create things of
beauty. Classic cars are but one of the infinite forms of artistic expression
that the human mind, spirit and ingenuity has created since the inception of the very
first horseless carriage” says Vic Pentz, Senior Pastor of Peachtree
Presbyterian Church. “For some people, God’s gifts are expressed through the
majesty of a beautiful painting, the marvel of science, the miracle of nature
or, in this case, the tail fins of a mint condition 1958 Cadillac Sedan Deville”
muses Pentz.

“Over the years, places of worship have served as a common meeting
place for diverse groups of differing interests and opinions. We hope that the ‘Cool
Cars For Christ In Buckhead’ Car Show will continue to serve as an annual
example of how our congregation welcomes everyone who wishes to share their
love for God and, ironically, classic cars from days gone by” states Keith
Williamson, event co-chairperson.  “Although
there are no direct biblical references to the birth of the Corvette, most fans
would agree that it’s various renditions and high performance level is
heavenly. Unless, of course, your preference leans more towards a 1936 Rolls
Royce” adds Mr. Williamson.

Those wishing to display a car and be considered for one of Top Ten
awards among four classifications (International, Domestic Stock, Domestic
Modified/Custom and Street Rods) will need to register their classic car (1992
or older) prior to or on the morning of the event. Pre-event registration can
be submitted at a cost of $20.00 per entry by visiting the church’s website at www.peachtreepres.org/coolcarsforchrist.  Appropriately aged vehicles may also be
registered the morning of the event between the hours of 9:00am-11:00am at a cost of $25.00 per car. Judging will be conducted between 11:00am-1:30pm.
The Awards Ceremony will begin at 2:00pm.

The day will also feature kids activities, food concessions, a 50/50
raffle and music as classic as the cars on display. In the case of undesirable
weather, the car show will moved to the covered parking deck adjacent to The
Lodge, a church-owned facility located directly across Roswell Road from the
open-air parking lot serving as the initial display area.
