McBride's 'Team Martina' Raising Funds for Chastain Park Playground

Country music superstar Martina McBride is wrangling her star power for good, helping to get a new playground at Chastain Park.

McBride's volunteer group, Team McBride, and her fans are hoping to raise at least $20,000 for the Chastain Park Conservancy Playground, “Play Chastain,” with crowd-funding site, Crowdrise.  As of this posting on Thursday afternoon, Team Martina had raised $14,232.

The playground will be accessible for children of all abilities and needs in Atlanta.

Fans are  encouraged to visit Team Martina’s Sound Check for Kids page at www.Crowdrise.com to participate in the fundraiser. The first 50 fans who raise a minimum of $200 will be invited to an exclusive party at Martina’s sound check prior to the concert that evening. Those who donate at least $15 will be entered to win prizes, such as McBride’s personal copy of Pat Benatar’s memoir and the dress McBride wore at the 2013 Kentucky Derby.

The campaign will culminate with Martina’s September 28, 2013 performance at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
