Man's Body Found Along Creek Near Buckhead Golf Course

Groundskeepers discovered the white male in the shallow waters of Peachtree Creek on Tuesday morning.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased man as Joseph Corey Goodwin, 38, of Atlanta.

Lab results are pending and the cause of death is still unknown.

Atlanta police say there were no obvious signs of foul play involved with a deceased man who was discovered near Cross Creek Golf Club late Tuesday morning.

Groundskeepers at the Buckhead course that is surrounded by a residential subdivision off Bohler Road discovered the white male in the shallow waters of Peachtree Creek.

APD spokesman John Chafee said the man was approximately 30 years old. His body was found on the northwest side of the par-3 course near I-75 and Peachtree Battle Avenue.

It was reported that the body was just off the property of the 122-acre development.

The cause of death is pending autopsy and the investigation continues.
