North Atlanta High Principal Resigns

The resignation announcement comes a year after "Bloody Friday" when NAHS principal Mark MyGrant and other top administrators were removed from the school by APS officials.

North Atlanta High is losing another principal, who served as the school's top administrator for less than a year.

NAHS Principal Howard Taylor announced Friday that he is resigning. His last day will be Dec. 1.

“The district is appreciative of Dr. Taylor’s leadership over the past year, particularly during the planning, relocation and opening of the new North Atlanta High School,” the district said in a statement. “We wish him well in his next assignment.”

Taylor was named as the school's new principal after former principal Mark MyGrant and other top administrators at the school were removed in the fall of 2012.

APS has established a transition plan so that the quality of the students' learning environment will not be disrupted, according to the APS statement.

In the attached video, Taylor explains his resignation in a video from the school's student news site, The Northerner.
