Peachtree Site Demolished for Start of New Office Project
Parkside Partners, Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow plan groundbreaking next week for first phase of two-building medical complex
The groundbreaking for the complex near Piedmont Hospital will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15. A wrecking crew on Wednesday demolished a building housing a former TGI Fridays on the site.
The partnership purchased the 1.5-acre site in August 2010, according to an announcement from Wilbert News Strategies. WNSPR characterized it as "the highest profile site on the Beltline," adding that it is "being designed to provide access and connectivity to the Beltline as it continues to be developed in the future."
Phase I will contain 50,000 square feet and a three-level parking deck, and Georgia Hand will locate its orthopedic practice and surgery center in the building, the announcement said.
The second phase will contain 90,000 square feet and will be timed to meet the growing demand for medical space in the area. Georgia Hand, founded in 1964, is recognized as one of the leading orthopedic practices in the Southeast. One building will be five stories and the other seven.
Parkside Partners is an Atlanta-based commercial real estate development and brokerage firm, WNSPR said. Founded in March 2003, Parkside is known for the development of office and commercial condominiums and boutique single-user office buildings.
