Former IHOP, Prime Buckhead Real Estate, Marred by Graffiti

The Buckhead IHOP, which closed its doors on Christmas Eve 2012, stands vacant marred with graffiti six months later.

There was a small outcry about graffiti in the Northside Drive area in March, but Atlanta Police Major Van Hobbs says he has not seen a graffiti increase in Buckhead’s Zone 2.

Hobbs said he had not heard about the graffiti on the former IHOP building until notified by Buckhead Patch.

Since the former IHOP property at 3122 Peachtree Road is privately owned, Hobbs said the property owner, which is Bank of America, would need to first make a complaint to the police before police can take steps towards pursuit and prosecution of suspects.

“That is not to say we would not stop anyone painting on the building and identify them and what they are doing but as for prosecution we would need a victim,” Hobbs told Patch in an email.
