Storms Cause Power Outages, Blocked Roads in Buckhead Areas
Storm downs trees, causes lightning damage in northwest Atlanta
Buckhead homes mainly in the Paces Ferry Road area lost power because of Monday night's storms, according to media reports.
Late Monday night, 9,200 lost power, mainly in the Bolton Road and Paces Ferry Road areas, according to Ga. Power. A total of 1,200 customers mainly in northwest Atlanta remained without power at midmorning Tuesday. Ga. Power said they would be restored by noon,
Westminster Schools delayed opening until 10 a.m. Tuesday because of a power outage on the schools' campus, according to the Westminster website.

Northside Parkway early Tuesday morning was blocked north of West Paces Ferry Road, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Downed trees were also reported on Foxcroft Road at Dumbarton Court near West Paces Ferry Road. West Paces Ferry and Mount Paran roads were blocked by downed trees, WSB Radio reported. Roads were clear and traffic moving by 8 a.m.
